The Requirements for International Student
 

I. The study period is basically of 4 years for Bachelar degree and 3 years for master and doctoral degree.

II. The students will be instructed under a team of supervisors during the study.

III. The international students for bachelar degree have to get 160 credits before degree application, including no less than 110 from degree course. At least 30 of them from general courses, 10 from Chinese Culture, 20 from Chinese Language and 60 from disciplinaru courses. The others are from relevant compulsory courses and optional courses.

IV. The international students for master degree have to get 34 credits before degree application, including no less than 17 from degree course. At least 9 of them are from general courses, 2 from Chinese Culture, 6 from Chinese Language and 8 from disciplinary courses. The others are from relevant compulsory courses and optional courses.

V. Usually, in disciplinary courses and compulsory courses 1 credit means 20 periods of classes, while in public courses and optional courses 1 credits equals 30 periods of classes.

VI. For doctoral degree, students are required to get at least 16 credits before degree application, with no less than 8 credits of degree courses.

VII. For those who didn’t learn the disciplinarily related courses must follow the supervisors to take the relevant core courses.

VIII. For master degree, students are basically required to carry out all the study in China. Exception is permitted but the students have to stay in China for study at least one and a half years. The dissertation must be defended in ECUT under both conditions. The dissertation can be written in Chinese and English with Chinese as the defending language.

IX. The students in master and doctoral degree programs are required to publish academic papers accordingly during their before degree application.

X. The dissertation for master degree should based on innovations and the dissertation for doctoral degree should propose innovative achievements.

XI. Requirements for diplomas:

i) Having got the required credits.

ii) Having proposed a literature review for the dissertation.

iii) Passed the min-evaluation.

iv) Proposed an accepted thesis proposal.

v) Accomplished the research practice required.

vi) For master and doctor degree, having attended no less than 10 academic lectures.

XII. Requirements for degrees:

i) Having got the credits required.

ii) Got the thesis proposal accepted and passed the mid-evaluation.

iii) The papers published evaluated as qualified concerning with the dissertation.

iv) For master and doctor degree, finished the qualified academic presentations.

v) Got the relevant data confirmed by the supervisors and authorities.
